Who Am I?

Ok everyone, you know that this had to happen! I cracked under the pressure and have finally decided to write my very own biography for everyone to enjoy. I promise not to bore you with the specific details of my life. :)

My real name is Holly (yes, I was born near Christmas), but on the 'Net I am also known as: Jedi Master Jali (the Spanish spelling of Holly), Phantompk (the pk is a long explanation of which I am not going into), Bigfoot (actually that would be my teddy bear), Victoria (my pen name), and Melanie in the Secret Circle.

I am a senior in college, how very exciting. I go to Wilson College in Pennsylvania (yes I am American) although I'm not wild about the school anymore 'cause it sucks, but then don't all schools? I'm majoring in English with a minor in Mass Communications. Hopefully someday I'll be a writer, journalist, or movie critic.

I am hopelessly obsessed with movies, Star Wars being my absolute favorite movie trilogy. I will watch almost any type of movie although I don't really like martial arts movies, but I will watch them (my ex boyfriend was so obsessed with Jackie Chan). I also am obsessed with Broadway musicals, my favorite being of course the Phantom of the Opera with Les Miserables coming in a close second (thanks Kate!). I also like Jekyll and Hyde and almost any other ALW musical excluding Whistle Down the Wind (awful!). I also LOVE my teddy bears, so I gave my favorite bear Bigfoot his own den on the web. Aren't I nice?

Let's see, more about me! I am an avid viewer of the WB's Buffy the Vampire Slayer , in fact, I have been granted guardianship of Spike's hatred of the Judge. I also watch Sliders, Seinfeld :(, and lots of other shows. If you are so interested in knowing what I watch, go here!

I'm also a big reader of Anne Rice and Stephen King although I haven't had time to read much since I got to college which seems to happen to everyone. I also like to read young adult fiction (us English majors can get away with that!), and L.J. Smith is one of my favorite young adult authors. Lately I have read the Ice Storm by Rick Moody and Return to the Secret Garden by Susan Moody, both were incredibly good books. Currently I am reading an autobiography of Anthony Perkins (Norman Bates from Psycho) and a new V.C. Andrews book.

Well, after much consideration and deliberation, I have decided to put this in my biography too. Religion. To most people, religion defines who you are, but I do not really think that is so. I have spent a good deal of my life searching for the religion that speaks to me. My father is Christian, so I went to Sunday school and church with him, but I was not satisfied. My mother was Jewish, and I went with her to services, and although I felt a little more comfortable there than I had with my father's religion, something was still missing. Over the past few years, I have been studying the New Age religions (such as Wicca and the like), but even with those have proven to be not quite right for me. So, I do not have a religion per se, but I do believe there is a God out there, but I am still searching for my spiritual niche.

As I have already mentioned, I am hopelessly obsessed with musicals, but I also listen to movie soundtracks, Celtic music, and 1980's music. At least to me, 1980's music is not old, it's not new, but I don't consider it "old." I've been to a lot of personal pages, and I've noticed an alarming trend among the teenagers of today (I'm sure it must have been the same for the generations before me), sheep. Everyone likes the same bands, and the same music. It is a rare occasion that I find a personal page where the person actually likes different music than what is "acceptable" at the present moment. I know there are other people out in the world who are not sheep, but going through the Internet seems to be depressing.

I thought I should mention this also. I do have a boyfriend (people have asked) and I love him very much. We have known each other for a very long time and are recklessly in love. So, if anyone out in cyberland wanted to get a date, "leave off!" as Tommy would say.

Well, that's it for now, until again the inspiration hits. Until then, go home!
